আধ-ময়লা খাকি শার্টটা গায়ে চড়িয়ে দিয়ে, ভাঙা আয়নাটার ভেতর আর এক প্রস্থ নিজের চেহারাটা দেখে নিল মাহের আলী। লোকে বলে, চেহারাটা নাকি ওর বড় রুক্ষ। কোমলতার কোনো ছোঁয়াচই নেই ওতে। তার ওপর চিবুকের গোড়ার পোড়া দাগটা বড় বিশ্রী ঠেকে চোখে।

আয়নায় মুখটা দেখে নিয়ে, চিরুনিটা মৃদু বুলিয়ে নিল সে চুলের ভেতর। তারপর পুলিশি বুটের খুট খুট শব্দ তুলে দাওয়ায় বেরিয়ে এল মাহের আলী। উঠোনে বসে ঘুটে বানাচ্ছিল মা, পায়ের শব্দে একবার ফিরে তাকিয়ে আবার চোখ ফিরিয়ে নিল। মাহের আলীও একঝলক তাকাল সেদিকে। তাকিয়ে মুখ বিকৃত করল। 

Moner Moto Bou by Zahir Raihan is a popular story of Zahir Raihan. In the book the author describes the traditional culture of villages people. Zahir Raihan was famous bengali author, story writer and also a filmmaker. He is well known for his documentary “Stop Genoside” making on liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971. The author full name was Abu Abdar Mohammad Zahirullah and nick name was Zafar. He was born on 19 August 1935 in Feni District, Bangladesh. Popular Books of Zahir Raihan are Hazar Bosor Dhore, Shes Bikeler Meye, Ekhushey February, Borof Gola Nadi,  Ar Konodin, Arak Falgul etc  He was awarded Bangla Academy Award in 1972. He also got Adamjee Literature Award, Ekhushey Padak, Shadinata Dibash Puroshkar. Zahir Raihan disappeared on 30 January 1972 when he was searching his brother Shahidullah Kaisar in Mirpur area, Dhaka  who was captured and Killed in 14 December 1971 and never come back.
