বইটির নাম "কাঠের শরীর" হলেও, লেখক (কিঙ্কর আহসান) সবসময়ই গল্পের বইয়ে খুঁজে ফিরেছেন মানুষের মন। দশটি ছোটগল্পে ভিন্ন ভিন্ন চরিএকে নিয়ে কম সময়ে খুব খেলাধুলা করেছেন লেখক।
গল্পসূচিতে প্রথমেই যে গল্পটি "জীবন -চিএনাট্য-খসড়া"
মানুষের প্রকৃতিগত দিকটা আসলেই খুব অদ্ভুত! বেঁচে থাকার জন্য পাগলামিটা আসলেই খুব দরকার। মৃত্যু এবং জীবনের খুব পাশাপাশি বসবাসের একটি চিএ দেখা যায় এখানে।
