Tridhara by Samaresh Basu is a popular novel which is written by
Samaresh Basu. The book was first published in 1967 in Desh Magazine,
Saradia Edition. This novel is about a young boy who is used as the
premises to understand not only his background but of the society at
large. Samaresh Basu narrates the novel in first person and uses
flashback technique to articulate and stir events of protagonist's life
within a short time limit of 24 hours or a day. Samaresh Bose was born
on December 11, 1924 in Bikrampur
of erstwhile Bangladesh. He received little formal education. His
childhood years were spent in Naihati. He came to Calcutta at the age of
thirteen and worked hard to earn a living. He worked as an egg seller
and did every sort of menial job in return for meagre wages. He worked
in an ordnance factory for a few years in Ichhapore. He used to live in
slums for quite a long time. His notable writings are Amritakumbher
Sandhane, Nirjan Saikate and Kothai Pabo Tare with the nom
de plume Kalkut, Tridhara,
